Welcome

We are a community school for pregnant and parenting students and their children. We believe that education should be hands-on and relevant to real-life, college and career. We do so with a personalized school model that includes both blended-online and project-based learning.

Awards Ceremony & State of the School

On September 17, starting at 3:15pm, we will have an Awards Ceremony in our Gym.  This celebration will acknowledge the accomplishments of our students during 4th quarter last year and summer school.  During this event, we will also have our Title 1 State of the Schools information.

Families are encouraged to join us for this event and support their student.

Dr. Udupa
Our Principal Recognized by AchieveMPS

From AchieveMPS: We're proud to announce that Dr. Padmini Udupa, Principal of Minneapolis Public Schools Longfellow Alternative High School, is the recipient of our 2019 AchieveMpls Excellence Award for her vision and leadership in developing a customized intership experience for parenting students in the Step Up Youth Employment Program, Minneapolis.  Dr. Udupa will be honored at our October 10 Evening of Excellence at McNamara Alumni Center.  Learn more about Dr. Udupa and how you can join us at this inspiring annual event.

Become a Student at Longfellow

We, at Longfellow High School, are always looking for new students to add to our school.

We are school designated for pregnant and parenting teens, but we are also a place where these students can thrive in their education and earn their high school diploma.  We have many different programs to help our students further their education past high school.

If you, or someone you know, are interested in joining us at Longfellow High School, please give us a call at 612-668-4700 and we'd be happy to give you more information.

Donate to Longfellow

We appreciate all of the wonderful donations that the community and our partners have given to Longfellow!  Currently, we are only accepting donations of winter items.  We especially need winter items for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, but are also accepting winter items for high school students.

(We are not currently accepting general clothing items or play things - our storage areas are full)

Thank you in advance to everyone considering donating to our school.  We truely appreciate your help!

First Day of School

The new school year starts on Tuesday, September 3rd!  School starts promptly at 9:45am.  The staff at Longfellow are excited to see all new and returning students.  We have engaging projects and classes planned for first quarter.  If you would like to attend Longfellow, it is not too late to register.  Please call our main office (612-668-4700) for more information.

At Longfellow Alternative High School we provide a personalized learning environment for students to complete their high school education and build a strong future through an emphasis on attendance, academic achievement, and positive relationships. By encouraging critical thought, providing prenatal and parenting education, and partnering with community services we support diploma-driven parents and kindergarten ready children as they establish the groundwork for lifelong learning.

Vision
